## 2023-04-03 Meeting #2

> Develop and discuss RFCs in repositories instead of a pull request.

We’re still looking for more [shepherds](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs#shepherd-team), if you’re interested, please nominate yourself!

Present: @infinisil (author), @lheckemann (lead shepherd)

- [Authorship vs Reviewership](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs/pull/138#discussion_r1144805174)
  - @infinisil: For RFC 140 we had [a problem](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs/pull/140#issuecomment-1460471299) where we had a team of 5 people listed as author, which disallows any of them to be part of the shepherd team
  - @infinisil: Similarly for RFC 101, where the shepherd team essentially [took over the RFC](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs/pull/101#issuecomment-1402796012)
  - @lheckemann: [replying to the comment](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs/pull/138#discussion_r1156425284)
  - @infinisil: So this isn’t a problem for RFC 138, but the RFC process should address this at some point
    - @lheckemann: Might not need to be changed, maybe just add an interpretation note

- @infinisil: How to proceed? Still no extra shepherd
  - Could pause the RFC until shepherd is found
  - Let’s continue meeting for now

- @lheckemann: Not sure this RFC is a good idea. Makes creating an RFC seem like a bigger deal
  - @infinisil: Probably insignificant extra effort compared to writing the RFC text
  - @infinisil: We should have a RFC repository template for nice [GitHub integration](https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/creating-a-repository-from-a-template#creating-a-repository-from-a-template)
