Another update on Summer of Nix:
-
@jleightcap picked up the work of @L-as, and with patient reviews by @albertc and @lorenzleutgeb packaged LibreSoC
- this allows building the entire schematic with Nix
- Mob “cake” @mightyiam @GetPsyched @sarcasticadmin @yakampe published a series of live mob programming sessions. Together they
- got Vula to run as a service with only two configuration options, and also packaged the desktop application
- started work on providing all treesitter grammars as Python modules
-
@jleightcap and his mob began packaging
lib25519
- With @Janik’s mentoring:
-
@Atemu and @eljamm delved into the complexities of GNU Taler, and are now working on wrapping all that knowledge into NixOS modules
- the next steps will be getting an exchange running through the module, and allow accessing the server from various wallet clients, such as the CLI or smartphones
- eventually the manual tests will be ported to NixOS VM tests
-
@opna2608 and @infinidoge packaged many PeerTube plugins for NGIpkgs
- eventually this will be migrated to Nixpkgs, which requires upstream changes to the build setup to make it more pure and less hacky
-
@Atemu and @eljamm delved into the complexities of GNU Taler, and are now working on wrapping all that knowledge into NixOS modules
-
@wegank
- did a series of refactorings to the NGIpkgs code base to make it easier to navigate and extend
- ensured that dependency updates would build successfully
- removed some packages that got upstreamed to Nixpkgs, such as for GNU Taler
- @cleeyv and @erethon continued making small steps with improving consumer and contributor documentation
- @matthewcroughan continued building a convenience layer for SCION
- @erictapen started migrating weblate to Nixpkgs
- I wrote a call for help to plan next year’s Summer of Nix
Thank you everyone for digging into the details!
We’re very sad to see @Janik leave the team. Thank you very much for your invaluable work on everything Nix!
