[25.11] lutris suddenly builds its dependencies from source

This issue only affects one of my machines. All other machines smoothly update. All machines use the same configuration.

On my 25.11-stable notebook I tried updating from 0c88e1f2bdb9 (6 days ago) to 8fd9daa3db09 (1 day ago). I was surprised as the update took longer than a few moments. Looking at the output lutris tried building valkey from source and ran redis tests that take 10+ minutes. In the end one of the test cases of redis always fails, failing the update in the process. The issue is reproduciable on this machine.

Taking my 25.11-stable desktop (using the exact same configuration) I tried reproducing the issue but couldn’t - it smoothly updated.

lutris on x86_64-linux is newly failing on 8fd9daa3db09. This means that you will get a cache failure and then your machine will try to build locally. You do not mention what architectures your machines are, if one is x86_64-linux, this will explain the failure.

There is an issue in nixpkgs relating to the failure of the valkey package.
