Does anybody here have any experience with mattermost? I thought I might want to contribute a few months ago but didnt end up following through past getting the server and client up and running. I dont know about the politics or corporate entities involved, but it seemed good that it could be self hosted. I am not sure if it is or can be federated in any way.

Isn’t mattermost open core where you need to pay for “hi-tech” stuff like LDAP support?

We’ve been using Mattermost on NixOS at work for about 3 years now. It’s worked fine.

We are also using Mattermost for a bit more than a year at work. We had some struggles in the beginning (especially with the way notifications and availability is handled) but after a bit getting used to it‘s quite nice
