AWS AMI rebuild hags on t2.micro

After running AWS t2.micro (x86_64, 1 core, 1Gb memory, 16Gb) instance based on ami-0966129078909a8b6 after any small change (hostname or system.stateVersion = “24.11”:wink: nixos-rebuild boot / switch hangs for hour and instance has to be killed.

Is it just low memory or some fix required in build/boot process?

It is most likely a low memory issue. Try creating a decent sized swapfile and see if it helps. It’ll be slow (esp since t2 only supports EBS) but it should let you figure out what the contention is.
