I loved all the writing on the badge. All the homage to DEFCON33 and other quotes.
I’m not much of a hardware guy – it’s a big gap in my own knowledge so those were cherished to me.
I enjoyed reading the post. It’s amazing how much work it is to get a physical device created and working. I only ever deal with the ephemeral code side.
I had a blast there.
I’m still surprised it all worked. We were extremely happy that we could get it to people at all. I’m still fighting hardware in the evenings, but things are progressing really well. Have to get it on our Hydra soon.

The pride snowflake logo also came out amazing, really vivid in person.
The team shipped what might be the first bespoke NixOS-powered single-board computer (that isn’t in a drone lmao).
I hope we can continue doing this. Every year, make it a tradition to put the previous year’s speakers on the badge, or something similar. In any case, I’d love to keep NixOS running on it, though the battery life is of course going to be an interesting challenge.
