Can't launch applications after waking from suspend

This has happened a couple of times now, suspend works just fine but sometimes when it wakes from suspend I lose the ability to launch any application, I’ve left the terminal open in anticipation for when it happens again so I can try and diagnose the problem, I’m on LXQT with Kwin as the window manager, and its just happened again, applications that are already open still function just fine, but this is what I get when I try and launch an application.
