Cinnamon application list doesn't update until cinnamon is restarted

I’m running into an issue where, whenever I install or remove packages (through nixos-rebuild switch or nix-env -i) my desktop environment application list doesn’t update with the new application until I log out and log back in. Is there any way to fix that? I’ve tested this with cinnamon and plasma and run into the same issue both times, so I’m pretty sure this is an issue with how NixOS is exposing .desktop files to the DE, not a problem with the DE itself. Restarting Cinnamon with alt+f2, r works to update the application list, but I don’t consider doing that after every update to be a permanent solution.

I’ve included my configuration.nix file below. Forgive the messiness - I’m fairly new to nix :slight_smile: !
