:tada: Clan 26.05 is out :tada:

41 contributors, 2,849 commits, 1,086 pull requests since December, roughly 6 merges a day for five months.

Highlights:

  • clan machines update now registers the new generation in the bootloader
    before activating. Updates survive a reboot even when live activation fails
  • –specialisation flag to switch NixOS specialisations on deploy
  • ZeroTier now supports multiple networks per clan
  • Vars prompts keep previous values by default.
  • New forwardAgent option for SSH agent forwarding to managed machines

New services: dm-dns, ncps (Nix binary cache proxy), pki, p2p-ssh-iroh (experimental NAT-traversing SSH), installer

New disk templates: three btrfs schemas including impermanence variants

Breaking changes:

  • ZeroTier requires a migration. Done automatically for most users.
  • sshd now issues CA-signed host certificates by default.
  • Upstream: systemd initrd is now default (headless LUKS users pay attention)
  • D-Bus switched to dbus-broker (expect one expected-failure activation, then
    reboot)
