Desktop not working on Gnome with Wayland

Hello,

My Desktop does not show any files or folders that the Desktop folder contains. Also, when I right click the Desktop I am just getting the options to change the background or go to the settings.

I am using NixOS 22.05 with Gnome 42.2 and Wayland.
Maybe I set the wrong XDG settings which I am managing with home-manager.

That is expected, GNOME Shell has not supported desktop icons for over ten years now. You can install an extension that adds them with environment.systemPackages = [ pkgs.gnomeExtensions.desktop-icons-ng-ding ]; and then enable it in the Extensions app.

Oh my, sorry about that. First time I am using Gnome.
