While it is always great to cultivate more good, you also need to stomp out the bad. If you allow the bad to continue to fester, it’ll continue to grow. Both needs to be done, not one or the others.
What we have now is open core upstream nix. I don’t know if you all have ever used other things that have gone open core, but it is generally a net loss for the community. Open core nix is not an existential threat or something that may materialize, it is already here.
