This sounds like a very nice sequence of events. My concern was around a possible less ideal series of events, involving nix and downstream determinate nix diverging significantly, which would fragment the ecosystem in a very harmful way. Perhaps some reassurance from determinant systems about relationship they intend to have with with upstream (“ideal set of patches in determinate nix is 0” is unrealistic given different decision making structures) could help here?
