I hope it’s ok if I post this here, but I think if people are using Nix then there’s a good chance they are interested in digital privacy. Nix users seem to be fans of privacy tools (password managers etc.), myself included!
I’m doing a digital privacy survey for my Masters thesis, and would be very happy if Nix users would take part. It’s online and should only take 4-5 minutes.
Every possible privacy option (stop and delete data at any time, etc.) is enabled.
Yes, I’ve considered two biases, which might affect it, which I will disclose in my thesis:
It could be perceived as pro-privacy which could affect who participates and the kind of answers.
I’m sharing the link in tech forums, so tech-enthusiasts might be over-represented. As Nix in particular is more than 95% men, it will also risk one gender being over-represented.
So far, there have also been fairly negative answers given, including in the comments, so I seem to have gotten lucky with the first of those two biases (so far). But I can already see the second one is a problem, so I’ll have to share the link in places with more women to balance out the participants.
