I recently switched from 24.05 to unstable and now my electron apps are behaving strangely.
I’ve got an nvidia gpu and followed the nvidia hardware wiki but that was a while ago and everything was working normally before the upgrade.
When I open an electron app (Brave or Slack) the first window/canvas is blank. In slack, I can never force a new canvas so it stays blank but in Brave if I open a new tab everything is normal again.
Have you tried clearing the GPUCache, as outlined here: [Bug]: Need to manually remove GPUCache directory for every Electron app after every Mesa update · Issue #40366 · electron/electron · GitHub?
Hmm, thanks for the hint. Removing the GPUCache folder didn’t fix it, but removing all of ~/.config/Slack and rebuilding did.
rebuilding wouldn’t make a difference here, restarting slack would suffice.
So, I’m still getting these bugs even but can occasionally get a working build by deleting and rebuilding.
