Is this innocuous?
I ran the command:
sudo nixos-rebuild switch -p alpha
Now whilst my generations show as 6, 7, & 8 in the command line, 8 being my current gen,
my boot menu shows 6,7,8 & ‘alpha’, alpha being the default boot choice.
You created a separate profile, with its own generation numbers. As it’s not something I’ve ever actually done, I’m not sure how best to get things back to normal, but it probably involves removing the extra profile altogether and making a new generation on the normal profile.
