I used the NixOS option to enable fancontrol, but it seems it needs a config to work, currently the service always fails.
It says to use pwmconfig
to generate a config file, and that requires kernel headers I have read?

This program will search your sensors for pulse width modulation (pwm)
controls, and test each one to see if it controls a fan on
your motherboard. Note that many motherboards do not have pwm
circuitry installed, even if your sensor chip supports pwm.

The program will attempt to restore each fan to full speed
after testing. However, it is ** very important ** that you
physically verify that the fans have been to full speed
after the program has completed.

I am on 6.12 longterm but could not find kernel headers for that version. Is it just the linuxHeaders package? That one has no version.
Then the next steps, would be nice to hear the experience of someone who has already done this.
(Btw why is it so damn hard to control a fan??)
