After updating to NixOS 26.05, the custom icons I’ve set in Nautilus all appear as a generic white page:

Anyone else experiencing this? I’m not sure how to troubleshoot it. I did confirm that it still happens with NixOS/nixpkgs#530517.

This sounds similar to the issue I experienced on KDE Plasma, reading through this post and looking at wherever Gnome keeps the ”.desktop” files would be a good start.
Edit:
Nevermind, it doesn’t appear to be related to stale file references like my issue. After a fresh install of NixOS 26.05 with Gnome, trying to set a folder image results in the blank page icon.
I’m also seeing this. No failure logs as far as I can tell.
Same issue here since Nautilus version 50.0
