Since 2023 I’ve been running the Home Manager News bot on Mastodon, posting the latest home manager news. Home manager news announce newly available modules or changes to existing modules. They are shown by the hm CLI, but as many people use home manager as NixOS module and never interact with the CLI, the bot turned out to be very helpful to many. Thanks for 600+ followers!
As the project sees continued interest, I’ve decided to extend the bot to also post to Bluesky. You can now follow the Home Manager News bot on Bluesky and get the latest updates there, too.

The bot posts whatever news home manager maintainers contribute. I don’t want to complicate this project. I also think nearly all home manager users know where to search for these options. Similar issues was raised in Link to documentation in posts · Issue #12 · katexochen/hmnews-bot · GitHub
Some news could benefit from a bit more text/ background/ link to upstream homepage etc, but that’s something to improve within the home manager repo.
