I’m trying to update my laptop from 25.11 to 26.05, but after switching both my system and home manager, when I try and reboot and log-in to my system from SDDM, it shows the boot splash from the manufacturer (in my case ASUS) and hangs.
If I try and open a new hyprland session from the TTY using Hyprland or start-hyprland, it opens correctly except for not starting my hyprpaper (but that’s the behavior now in 25.11 as well when starting from the TTY so it’s not an issue yet).
I am really stumped, and I’m not sure what to do to fix this.

I had some tome to trouble-shoot and it was a stupid issue.
The display manager was defaulting to start hyprland with uwsm even though I have it disabled for hyprland. Changing that + some tweaking of hyprpaper config (stylix outputed depreciated code format for hyprpaper) got it working.
