I ordered some customized NixOS logo necklaces

Now got a quote from one provider for 100 pieces, $1.9 per piece since this will include molding. (Theoretically following orders will be cheaper, at ~$1.3). Sadly 100 is the minimum amount and it’s a bit too many for me

If you want to order another batch to send to Germany, count me in for 10 pieces I guess :upside_down_face:

I believe the users in Germany and several surrounding countries can consume 100 pieces. By the way, where (geographically) is the merchant you asked?

This is awesome! I’d be up for buying like 25 pieces off for Switzerland, I regularly go to the local meetups there

Seems to be in Zhongshan, China. But of course needs to be quality-tested, which I am not able to do from this far. Your examples look very good from photos though :eyes:

I’d also be down to pay for 10-20 of those (to the Netherlands)

ping me if you anyone makes a group buy, I think I could find a place for 25 in Denmark, could be handed out to Nix CPH speakers and organizers

no, i’m in north america. oh well

Here is the nixos keychain I found in Nix/NixOS Keychain by iMatejC - Thingiverse,
I 3D print and color it manually, and having Nix with Rust and Tux beside my bag physically makes me feel secure, as if they are blessings to ensure my code runs smoothly without crashing. Long live these adorable companions!

We would like to get 20-25 of them to Poland or to someone in EU who can send it to us

hiii I’d love to get a metal one they’re super cute. I live in Berlin. Does anyone have any left? ^^’

I’d also take one in Germany, these look really awesome <3 I’d be down to help with the organization/splitting them up if we order 100 of them to Europe  Is there maybe also a more local seller in Europe (for similar-ish prices), that could also help with shipping costs?

Hi everyone, sorry for the late!

@Infinisil contacted me and we’ve made preliminary plans. I have placed an order for 200 pieces, and the price was about 1.90€ per piece this time, with no domestic shipping charges. This batch of goods will be sent to me first, and then I will select one for inspection and issue an inspection report (mainly whether the steel is 316 stainless steel). I will then send it to @Infinisil who will be handing out the necklaces at NixCon 2024. If you are in Europe but not planning to go to NixCon, you can contact him privately after he receives it.

The total cost will be shared in the form of retail, and an integer price slightly higher than the cost will be selected (about 5€). Of course if you need shipping, you have to bear the additional shipping costs. You are also welcome to pay for additional tips. Additional revenue will be donated to the NixOS foundation.

In addition, this time I asked for the source file of this model, and the designer agreed to license the source file to me under the CC-BY 4.0 license. These files will be uploaded to GitHub - NixOS/nixos-artwork: Nix related artwork later.

That’s great! Thanks @Aleksanaa and @Infinisil for organizing this; as if I wasn’t looking forward enough already for NixCon

These two polls are restricted to those with purchasing motivation in this round of distribution, where one person can cast up to 5 votes. We may set different quantity limits depending on circumstances. This vote only guides the proportion of goods we allocate and doesn’t represent ordering.

@Cryolitia wore the 55cm one in the first picture of this post, and I wore 60cm. I’m around 1.7m tall. I don’t recommend too long or too short. If you have any needs for them, you can tell me.
