@grahamc had a positive experience with NixOS on Dell 9560, described in his blog post.

Regarding the ZFS, you would have to create another installation ISO supporting ZFS (there are creation instructions in the manual - here).

I am glad that NixOS worked well for you!

Some random comments:

  • For auto-login have a look at services.xserver.displayManager.lightdm.autoLogin.enable or anything equivalent.
  • For booting logo, you could use plymouth, e.g. boot.plymouth.enable = true;

As for the Firefly devices, let me know if you can send stuff to Europe and how it would cost, you got my attention :smiley:
