LVM VDO on nixos

A coworker recently told me about LVM VDO and that they use it for the CentOS systems under their belt.

So I looked around a bit more and found that indeed man lvmvdo seems to exist in nixos, though that page refers to a kernelmodule kvdo which is not available in nixos, as well as it mentions a userspace program vdoformat, which I also can not find.

Does someone have any experience using it and might have some hints how to set it up on NixOS?

Today I found a PR providing VDO and am currently converting the first system.

Were you able to make VDO work?

I experimented with it, though there was no time to dig deep into it to build something on top of it.
