I’m sad to see this kind of news: Bitcoin + overuse of IA → no thought given to the ecological impact . We need to be careful about our energy use. We can no longer ignore it…

So as the article mentions (thanks for the honesty), it “succeeded” by overwriting some bytes here and there in the final binary (only possible because it knew the expected outcome) and also patching a crc function, because the tool chain is not exactly the same between guix and nix, so in reality it cannot be done.
