In my opinion, we need some better tooling, that helps to ping relevant persons, when a pull request has been made. Who appropriate people are, is up to debate but some incomplete ideas are:
- Maintainers of touched modules/packages
- Owners of touched files
- Maybe people, who touched the same files multiple times in the last year or so.
Maybe have a look at this discussion.
To be honest, I don’t know how feasible such a tool would be and if GitHub’s API is flexible enough.
There is still the issue to find a committer.
