Nix ecosystem vs. your favorite ~orchestration toolchain?

Clickbait-ish title, but hoping for a quick gut-check from anyone with broad hands-on perspective on ~orchestration toolchains on how/where the Nix ecosystem is fitting in at that scale.

Are any Nix ecosystem tools cohesive enough to earn a slot alongside the usual suspects? Are any of the usual suspects doing a good job of slotting Nix deployments in alongside everything else they support?

On that topic, I’d pretty much resume my thoughts as follows:

  • nix: file system api
  • terraform: remote stateful api

Now, I don’t know if that furthers any answer to any of your questions.
