`nix verify` fails

What should I do if nix verify is failing for me. I suspect my hard drive is to blame but I would like to try and fix the issue until I can get a new drive.

The message I am getting is:

$ nix verify
[14.4 MiB DL]
error: secret key is corrupt
(use '--show-trace' to show detailed location information)

Can I repair the failures somehow?

I ended up deleting my nix setup and starting from scratch.

I followed the instructions here to remove everything: Introduction - Nix Reference Manual

For next time, try nix-store --verify --repair. The Nix 2.0 CLI seems to be missing the old --repair functionality.
