Hello everyone,
If you donât know about it yet, NixCon is a yearly conference and a space for learning, collaboration, and connecting with the community, whether youâre a seasoned Nix user or just starting your journey.
In the past couple weeks, a [team to organise NixCon 2025](https://github.com/NixOS/org/blob/b433b5f9a071fe48299f6feed41c4fee31fb854f/doc/nixcon.md#nixcon-2025-rapperswil-jona-switzerland) has come together and can now finally announce the official time and place:
- When: **Fri-Sun, 5-7 September 2025**
- Where: [**OST in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland**](https://osm.org/go/0C0kYxUAI?m=&way=34754484) đ¨đâ¨
This year we will theme NixCon around âbridge-buildingâ, to emphasize the importance of fostering connections and collaboration among our diverse community. We wish to create an inclusive and welcoming environment in which we can celebrate everyoneâs unique strengths and contributions, no matter their background or status. And what better place to build bridges than Switzerland, where neutrality is so valued that even the fondue pot does not take sides. đđŤ
Thereâs still a lot to do, but we wanted to share the news early so you can start planning.
Whatâs still taking shape?
- The new website and logo are still under construction
- CFP, tickets, and schedule are to be published on the website when itâs ready
- Weâre planning to allow sponsorships again this year, details to be confirmed by the SC and board
- Weâre figuring out how to make the event as affordable as possible for our attendees. Please reach out to us if you think you need a personal stipend.
If youâd like to help out with organisation, get in touch [on Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/%23nixcon2025-orga:lassul.us) or join one of our regular open meetings (see the [official calendar](https://github.com/NixOS/org/blob/b433b5f9a071fe48299f6feed41c4fee31fb854f/doc/calendar.md)). Weâd be especially happy to get more volunteers to help with on-site preparation, website design, AV, etc.
Tag your fellow Nix fans, spread the word, and letâs make NixCon 2025 the best one yet!
