# NixCon 2026: Ticket sales open!

If you don’t know about it already, NixCon 2026 will take place in Kraków, Poland. Our [👾 website](https://2026.nixcon.org/) is live and we have finally received confirmation from our venue to announce the official time and place:
- 📅 When: **Friday to Monday, 25 to 28 September 2026** (yes, 4 days!)
- 2 program days
- 2 hack/unconference days
- 🇵🇱 Where: **[Jagiellonian University Auditorium Maximum](https://konferencje.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/obiekty-konferencyjne/auditorium-maximum)** in the heart of 🏰 Kraków, Poland
- 🧑🏼🤝🧑🏽 Who: Nix wizards, Nix-curious, Nix-adjacent, and the people who love them.
We are preparing a special **Partner track** this year! Bring your spouse, best friend, arch nemesis, or whoever else you can lure to travel to Poland with you, and they’ll be treated to a tourist package for their trouble.
Hopefully this allows you to start planning your trip. Here’s some more important information we have for you, for now:
- 🚩 We are planning something exciting: The very first **NixCon Capture the Flag** event!
- 🎟 **Ticket sales are open** and **contributor vouchers** will be available just like last year
This year the voucher eligibility is not a strict cut-off. We have decided to reward every single contributor with a progressive discount system; everyone’s a winner! 🏆
- 🛌 We intend to work out **discounts with local hotels** again
- 🥗 Budget permitting, we intend to offer **free food on all 4 days again**
- 🚧 The website is still under construction - check back often
- 💬 The CfP will open soon
- 🐝 _This again?_
Our preparation work is far from over though. If you want to dedicate some of your time for volunteer work in preparation for the conference, please reach out on [Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/#nixcon:nixos.org) or via [Email](mailto:nixcon@nixos.org). Keep an eye out for more Discourse announcements, and your inbox once you have a ticket.

I’ve never been to NixCon as I’m on the wrong side of the planet but I’m excited to participate in the CTF online if I have time those days. Also, will talks be recorded or streamed to the internet?

unless the speaker opts out, all talks are usually livestreamed on [media.ccc.de](http://media.ccc.de), last year’s recordings can for example be found here: [NixCon 2025 - media.ccc.de](https://media.ccc.de/c/nixcon2025)

This is great news! Poland is a great choice, and I’m excited about the prospects of people having night trains available.
It would also be nice to have some more information on the CTF event.
I wish a lot of well-slept nights for all the organizers in advance! 😄
