Hello Nixers!
a curious issue I can’t title better: having old-age parents I support them in IT terms keeping up their desktops, which are NixOS with Gnome Shell to meet their taste and my mental sanity. Since sometimes they are even blocked by well… PEBKAC issues I’ve installed for them two NanoKVM PCIe putting then on one of their Nvidia cards.
Gnome shell is set up for a clone monitor, which is the KVM. I can power up the desktops, operate their UEFI settings, operate also in Gnome Shell IF I start them, but not if they start. The cloning works, I see anything but I can’t click nor type anything. Apparently it’s not a gnome shell issue alone, since with an Ubuntu live we can both control mouse(es) and keyboard(s), but not on NixOS.
For some reasons Gnome Shell on NixOS ignore inputs coming from physical keyboard and mouse OR from virtual ones depending on who log-in to Gnome shell first, but not allow both. Does anyone have an idea what it could be or even how to try gathering more information?
