unstable has advanced again by the way, so anyone on unstable now gets firefox with the fixes without workarounds again

I’m still seeing a Build problem.
Yes, but the channel has been updated a day or so ago again.
You can click through to the hydra jobs to see which particular parts of the job failed the most recent builds, e.g. Hydra - nixos:trunk-combined:tested .
