No, this just ignores all that shit entirely. After nix boot stage 2, when the desktop env goes to load,it just drops you right in after its loaded in. It never prompts for a password with that set.
Bad for security, good for laziness. Thats what i meant

Does anyone who have this issue use fprintd for fingerprint authentication? I bumped into the same sort of SDDM hang entering my password. The logs indicated that PAM fprintd was timing out during that time. So I did a fingerprint login instead (press ENTER in the password field, then scan your fingerprint) and login was immediately.
I tried fingerprint in my setup but just couldn’t have a smooth experience. Sometimes it would work, sometimes would require both pass and fp, sometimes with fp the login would hang. After some time like this I completely disabled, it’s not a big deal for me.
I am not suggesting to use fingerprint authentication. Just that the fprintd PAM module was causing the freeze/delay on SDDM for me. Might be that others in this topic are affected by it too.
