Policy on removing packages from nixpkgs

I’m the current maintainer of the brigand package in nixpkgs, and I noticed that this fails on Hydra on darwin. I could fix it, but really, I don’t use it anymore, and neither does anybody else, at least in nixpkgs. What’s the policy here? Can I just create a PR to remove it? It also didn’t have a release in 3 years.

Yes, if the upstream is unmaintained it makes sense to remove it from nixpkgs. Here is an example: neocomp: drop by awwpotato · Pull Request #402695 · NixOS/nixpkgs · GitHub
