From https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/405002 The [update from mongoc 1.3…0.2 to 2.0.0](https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/395262) previously broke (my fault) nixpkgs. To avoid similar issues again, I thought about simply supporting the package for both version 1 and version 2. This is only a proposal, but maybe better than just [commenting recent PR to update from 1.30.3 to 2.1.0](https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/405002#issuecomment-2869663611) Note that: - It's my first time adding a new package while keeping a previous major version. If the commit message or package structure is wrong/could be improved, let me know. - I used the same approach of other packages under `pkgs/by-name`. - I set the default version to 1.30.8 to not break any of `mongocxx`, `libmongocrypt`, `n8n`, `open5gs`, `rsyslog` - We could use `mongoc_2` with `collectd` and `syslogng`, as they seem to work fine with it. - We could set `mongoc_2` as the default version and set `mongoc_1` where needed. - The latest version of `mongoc_1` should be updated to `1.30.8` after merging this commit. ## Things done - Built on platform(s) - [X] x86_64-linux - [ ] aarch64-linux - [ ] x86_64-darwin - [ ] aarch64-darwin - For non-Linux: Is sandboxing enabled in `nix.conf`? Had multiple reviews. Until merged I will continue to receive automatic updates PRs I have to close. It’s also a blocker for newer mongocxx releases.
