Hi, im trying to setup a server with rootless podman containers using home-manager. I’v configured my filesystem using disko with preservation. I’m using tmpfs for root and luks encrypted btrfs for persistent subvolumes. Containers are configured to use volumes, so i added .local/share/containers/storage/volumes in preservation directories, but im getting Error: command required for rootless mode with multiple IDs: exec: "newuidmap": executable file not found in $PATH.
The same configuration i’m using was tested with ext4 and was working without problems. I found this topic podman rootless startup: missing dependency in systemd PATH · Issue #138423 · NixOS/nixpkgs · GitHub which is describing the same problem but i can’t quite understand that workaround and i’m wondering if somebody found a more convenient way to utilize containers with tmpfs because the linked discussion is from 2022, otherwise i would consider switching to another filesystem. If some additional information is required i’ll try to provide it. Thanks in advance!
