[SOLVED] Where does the "nixos" partition label come from?

I ran the steps in manual sections 2.2.1 UEFI and 2.2.3 Formatting.

Then magically I see that /dev/disk/by-label/nixos points to partition 1 (sdb1 in my case) of the new partitions.

None of the commands specified “nixos” anywhere. I’m curious, how does this label come into existence?

mkfs.ext4 -L nixos /dev/sda1
