Stadia Controllers, Bluetooth LE, constantly disconnecting

I know there are a ton of moving parts here, but I try to find a solution anyways.

I flashed 2 Stadia controllers with the bluetooth firmware, so now they work as normal controllers.

Setup:

  • NixOS unstable
  • LTS kernel 6.12
  • KDE Plasma 6
  • sched-ext scheduler, bpfland (rusty caused crashes)
  • system76-scheduler
  • rust-coreutils
  • input-remapper enabled (but nothing configured)

After connecting both controllers initially, they worked without issues. I could play games with yuzu (archived version) without issues.

But now the controllers disconnect all couple of seconds, making them unusable.

I suspect input remapper and have already disabled it, as I dont really use it anyways.

Turns out it may have been input remapper. Removing it solved it for that day, even though now that one controller is below 40% charge it also disconnects permanently
