System crashes for seemingly no reason?

Every 5-10 minutes, a shutdown prompt (courtesy of MATE, but this happens regardless of DE) flashes on my screen and disables keyboard input, before trying to shutdown (or suspend?). Either way it’s making using my system practically impossible. I’m at a loss

nixos systemd-logind[955]: Power key pressed short.

A lot of times, then tries to go to suspend and after that it shuts down.
Was this you intentionally pressing the power button?
