ACME and NGINX not working as expected

I have had the same problem. For me it was a problem with the port forwarding of my router. Apparently ipv6 port forwarding didn’t work as I was expecting. You can check if a port is open using this website Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router And for me it reported that port 80 was not open even though I forwarded it for both ipv4 and ipv6. Disabling ipv6 support in my router fixed the problem.
