Hello all, I recently set up the fingerprint reader on my Framework laptop 13, and discovered that when I enroll my fingerprints under one distro, the ones I enrolled under NixOS seem to get erased. Is there any way I can have my fingerprint reader function under both distros? I am dual booting with NixOS and Arch at the moment as I’m also trying to diagnose why KDE takes longer to start up under NixOS, but that’s a different problem for a different topic.
Appreciate any help! ^^
Wild guess: check if there’s some data you can copy in /var/lib/fprint you can copy over. Or enroll different fingers per OS. But this is not a NixOS question I think.
I’ll see if I can copy over the data from Arch to NixOS and see if it works, thanks for the idea. Apologies if this isn’t a NixOS question, wasn’t really sure where to ask first, might go try the Arch Linux forums next.
Edit: Copying the fingerprint data from /var/lib/fprint seems to have worked! After a reboot, I can use sudo and unlock my PC with my fingerprint. Appreciate the help!
