Voting has restarted on the third Steering Committee election

After receiving feedback concerning the availability of information in the election, the EC has decided to cancel the previous attempt and to re-start the OpaVote election for the third Steering Committee election.

See the linked discussions for the full context.

We ask all voters to cast their votes again.

In this election, 4 seats on the SC are contested. All 4 seats are up for the full 2-year term.

The vote is open from 2026-10-27 until 2026-11-13 anywhere on Earth.

Eligible voters will receive an email with a link to vote.

The election uses Meek STV, a proportional voting method where candidates are ranked in order of preference, with your most preferred candidate first. Read more about it here: Single Transferable Vote (STV)

You must rank all candidates.
Voting is final. Once you cast your vote, it cannot be changed.

Meet the candidates

For those of us with very short memories, I assume there’s no way I can find out how I voted so I can copy it instead of rederiving it?

No, the votes are obviously secret until the election results are finalised, and even then they are anonymised.

my definitions of “secret” and “anonymised” don’t preclude being able to look up your own vote  but reasonable if this is not a common desire

@bmillwood: fwiw, some of the literature around voting systems had been concerned with the possibility of getting coerced to vote a certain way. for such purposes, being able to read your own vote would indeed be considered a liability, as this could enable such a coercing party to make you prove to them you voted the way they wanted you to.

considering this is an open source project whats to say a poll for the rest of us who aren’t able to vote YET may be cool.
