Split traffic based on process

I am attempting to replace my Windows workstation with NixOS. My greatest challenge at this stage is how to do the VPN split-tunneling. My VPN runs on the router, not the workstation itself. On Windows I can use DSCP tagging. I’ll assign one tag to my VDI application and MS Teams, another to my browsers. But so far I have not been able to figure out how to do that on NixOS/Linux. Basically, the way I do it on Windows is QoS-based tagging. The router then is able to determine which packets go where.

To be honest, the router isn’t working perfectly either. Even when its nftables is configured to direct all traffic from a certain MAC address directly to the ISP, it still somehow causes my Homey to be unreachable and an MMO game to be unable to log on to the server. Could be IPv6 being IPv6. But that’s not a Nix issue, it’s an OpenWRT issue.

I just wish my Linux skills were as good as my Windows skills.
