# Which problem does Nix solve?

(I hope it’s okay to ask this here. It’s more of a Nix question.)

I’ve just finished reading this [What Is Nix](https://engineering.shopify.com/blogs/engineering/what-is-nix)  
and I cannot figure out which problem Nix is actually solving.

Could somebody explain that, please?
