I am a newbie to nixOS. I love the way the configuration.nix can store all those settings that one forgets when trying to re-install in a new machine.
The use of configuration.nix allows one to share settings and learn from other’s setups and is in my view a profound contribution to the free and open-source movement that will accelerate Linux use and development for all.
I am working on a Lenovo T480s to test this all out but use MacOS and Ubuntu too.
My dream is to port my configuration.nix to a linux smartphone and degoogle and deapple my life…
Ultimately I want to run nixos on riscv architecture to run a cluster to perform numerical integration of models of physical systems using riscv assembly.
