- Adds clarity for people using nixpkgs stuff for their external stuff, and helps people understand nixpkgs-specific things to contribute to it
- But also works if we have an internal rendered version.

@infinisil: The Nixpkgs manual being for the stable user interface is a good distinction from internal/contributor docs, past agreement with docs team. But again, rendered version for internal docs would be great too.
- Relates to splitting the user manual into multiple pages, could use the same solution.
