2025-02-23 Nix@NGI Team Update

Brief Summary

We appreciate the participation of project authors in completing the surveys. Their input helps us gather useful insights. Thank you to everyone involved—your feedback guides our work and helps us move forward.

Progress This Week

This week, thanks to the help of the NixOS infrastructure team we got access to the email infrastructure, allowing us to reach out to project authors. With this system in place, @eritapen has been able to contact more authors, and we’ve seen a growing number of responses coming in.

We’re preparing to review survey responses manually to identify key trends before moving to advanced analysis. Meanwhile, @erictapen is working on user stories to highlight the most relevant insights for our stakeholders.

In parallel, @eljamm has been working on mapping the survey outputs. This structured approach will not only help us visualize the data more effectively but will also allow us to generate meaningful graphs and insights, making it easier to support decision-making and improve the survey process.

@imincik and @fricklerhandwerk dedicated time this week to examining the project from a broader perspective. Their review from a high-level viewpoint ensures that everything we do aligns with our strategic objectives and long-term goals.

Notable Updates This Week

This week, we also met the first visitors of our open hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 16:00 Europe/Berlin). Their participation gives us direct feedback and helps us tackle challenges in real time.

The Nix@NGI team is part of a coordinated effort to support selected free and open source software (FOSS) projects, by making them available as Nix packages or NixOS service modules.
It is funded by the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative through the NLNet Foundation and the NixOS Foundation.
