Application Windows start to flicker/jitter on dual-monitor mode

  • CPU - Intel® Core™ i5-8350U × 8
  • Gnome - 46 - Wayland
  • Kernel - 6.6.57
  • Built-in display: 1366x768 - 60Hz
  • Second display: DELL 27" - 1920x1080 - 60Hz - Scale 100%

Hi,
So I just noticed that ALL window applications start to present some sort of flickering or jittering when I plug my second monitor and set “join displays” (extend monitor). The scroll stops working correctly, videos start to present stuttering.

If I set only ONE screen (either the built-in OR the external) the windows start to behave normally.

That started happening after I executed: sudo nixos-rebuild switch --upgrade

Any tips what could be?

Another things that I just noticed:

  1. My “Power Mode” was set to “Performance”. Once I set that back to “Balanced” the weird behavior gets reduced. Yes, not vanish just gets reduced.

  2. IF the window is maximized the weird behavior also gets reduced as well.
