I have downloaded ardour and some plugin packages from the repository. But I don’t know how to get ardour to find the packages. Is there a simple way? When I did a search it found the files. But I do not want to do that path because I expect that it will change over time.
When I am in the file browser there is no simple /lib directory.
nixpkgs patches Ardour to scan for plugins in several additional places—
/run/current-system/sw/lib/{ladspa,lxvst,vst3} (environment.systemPackages)/etc/profiles/per-user/$USER/lib/{ladspa,lxvst,vst3} (users.users.<name>.packages)~/.nix-profile/lib/{ladspa,lxvst,vst3} (home.packages)~/.{ladspa,lxvst,vst3}—so it looks like just adding a package via one of those options and re-scanning in Ardour should work.
