In addition to our own values, we’ll also follow the FOSDEM Code of Conduct, accepted speakers will have to explicitly agree to FOSDEM’s Code of Conduct.

The linked CfP site mentions a submission deadline of November 16. Does the Nix track have a separate deadline from the rest?
That’s the submission deadline for the main track, the fosdem organizers currently try to figure out how to fix/separate that.

Can the speakers talk from remote (Online)? Or it’s an offline event.
Also what kind of topics are welcome?
I mean the audience is pro nixers or just newbies focused?
I think this description helps clarify the kinds of talks we are looking for:
Nix and NixOS are tools that take a unique approach to package management and system configuration. It differs with most other tools in that it is heavily inspired by functional programming. Those inspirations being: immutable, side effectless, and correct. It delivers on the promise of “if it works on my machine, it will work on yours”. Without shipping your actual machine.
The Nix and NixOS devroom will bring interesting presentations, both technical and community-focussed, for new and seasoned nixers alike. We welcome presentations related to other functional package managers or adjacent projects as well.
Both beginner and advanced topics are welcome. This year we also added language explicitly welcome other functional package managers and adjacent projects.
It’s an offline-focused event, so remote presentations are unfortunately not possible. Live streams and recordings will be available.
