Hi there, yes, I’m one of the original authors of these software stacks.
I have to say: it seems strange to post an announcement of something that you are not really involved in, it should probably have been posted in Links section referring directly to a source rather than copy-pasting things esp. without proper understanding. This can be misleading.
Also, I’m really sad because the body seems some slop AI and while it’s very much enthusiast and I appreciate that, I think this is not helping anyone to understand navigating this news.
If you are curious about things we do, I recommend you can contact me directly or the project leads at DINUM.
Not really involved ? I would say that in open source we are all involved, at least a little, and that is part of what makes it beautiful. Look, I am not from France, and I am quite happy about this move !
And actually, I had been expecting someone to post about it, but since no one did, I went ahead and did it myself. I will happily admit that I was genuinely enthusiastic about the news.
That said, the point about being careful when summarising a topic one is not directly involved in is fair. The summary was based on the links referenced under the post, not on random copy-pasting, or anything else. Still, I am happy to correct or improve the post if something is inaccurate or misleading.
I moved this to links, because I agree it is wrong to put it in the announcements section. The links section says “only links and comments”, so I’d recommend removing the summary
I have been seeing online about France choosing GendBuntu as the OS.
Got confused as in which OS is actually being used, GendBuntu or Securix or Beauratix?![]()

GendBuntu is the OS used by the National Gendarmerie.
