Electron 34 apps not launching with hardware acceleration using Linux 6.12+

I’ve opened an issue for this already, but wanted to see if anyone here is facing this issue. It doesn’t affect every Electron app, but quite a few of them. Obsidian, Discord, and multiple unofficial discord clients won’t launch when using this kernel version. Using 6.11 works perfectly. I’m using a 7800 XT on the system that has the issue. I have another laptop using integrated AMD graphics, and that doesn’t have the issue.

I haven’t yet tested this on another distro, but will be doing so.

Does it still happen with electron < 34?

It does not. Podman-desktop and Tidal-hifi both work as expected.

Thanks, I’ll try overriding electron with electron_33 for now. I’m not sure if this is a Nix packaging issue yet. I’m going to test it on another distro later tonight.

It seems the flatpak has the same issue, so it’s not caused by the Nix electron package.
